Brief: To provide a window system that was going to help with the heat loss in the bedrooms that was occurring due to the design of early 80s bronze anodised aluminium single glazed sliding windows.
The bed rooms ( of which one is to become a nursery) were cold especially during our winter, with heaters working overtime to keep the house warm.
Action: Hammer Aluminium removed the existing windows and replaced with a Capral Aluminium residential awning window system. The client chose clear glass glaze, double glazed units.
Benefits: As well as helping to reduce the cost of heating, it is now easier to control the temperature in these bedrooms. The colour choice has also lifted the street facing façade of the building.
The client opted for awning windows so that the flyscreens can fit on the inside of the window and awning window systems have no tracks making windows easier to keep clean of dust and dead flies.
